James Ronald Chalmers letter, 1861 [i.e. 1862] Jan. 3.

The letter to Major General Braxton Bragg was written while Chalmers was a colonel in the 9th Mississippi Regiment. It acknowledges on behalf of the officers of that unit the receipt of a barrel of golden syrup from Mrs. Bragg.
